Statement on the Feb. 23, 2021 Primary Election
To my Friends and Supporters:
The February 23 primary votes have been tallied by the County Clerk, and I will not be advancing to the consolidated general election on April 6.
Your support over the last 30 years has been important. Together we worked to make so many good things happen. We also had many struggles, but the Great 8th Ward persevered, and we have come a long way. With our strong commercial districts and engaged residents the 8th Ward has proudly contributed more than its share to the City of Evanston.
Evanston has just received word that we are about to be blessed by Federal dollars that will help all of our businesses and residents who have struggled due to the pandemic.
On that positive note, I want to thank you again for your friendship, financial and political support over the years. You made the work a joy, and I have loved everything about being the alderman of this great ward.
My wish for you is good health and happiness,
Ald. Ann Rainey
8th Ward, Evanston
